Judith Miller Book Signing in River Crest for the ICAA

With Christmas almost here I thought you would love a tour inside the gorgeous home of Mr. and Mrs. Paup in the gorgeous River Crest neighborhood in Fort Worth.

It was our last Institute of Classical Architecture and Art meeting of the year and the charming Judith Miller came to speak on the Arts and Crafts movement.  Judith Miller is an expert in antiques, appears on many TV shows such as Antiques Roadshow and BBC shows such as House Detectives and speaks at distinguished locations and writes for numerous publications.  Judith Miller has written over 100 books and co-founded the Miller's Antiques Price Guide.  So we were in for quite a treat to have her be our guest for the day.

(Left) Tom Holifield with Larry E. Boerder Architects is the Architect for this home and (right) Greg Connally is the Interior Designer.

Ted and Nancy Paup were the gracious hosts and generously opened their home to us for this ICAA meeting.

Nancy Paup's home was in full Christmas mode with beautiful decorations throughout.

The Library
Their stunning art throughout the home was all by Texas artists.

Another view of the Library.  The natural lighting was abundant in the entire house.  I loved how it dappled the rooms with warmth.

Mr. and Mrs. Wood are always volunteering their time at ICAA events.  Valerie Wood is on the steering committee for the ICAA and the ICAA Young Professionals Dallas Chapter.

Live piano music greeted the guests.  The music was a beautiful addition to the event.

Mr. and Mrs. Paup glowed as they greeted guests and made everyone feel welcome in their home.

The pianist was very talented.

The Formal Living Room

Like I said, Judith Miller has published so many books and these were just a sampling of her works.  I could have set their forever flipping through her wisdom.

The Family Room just off the Breakfast Room/Kitchen

Such a cozy spot, it was probably my favorite feature of the home.

A view of the backyard.  It was a rainy day but I'm so glad our wonderful photographer, James Edward, caught a glimpse of the backyard for you.

The house was filled with guests.

Mitch Gonzalez is with Materials Marketing who was one of our event sponsors for this event.

I had the opportunity to speak to the Texas Christian University Interior Design Department thanks to their Associate Professor of Interior Design, Amy Roehl.  Amy is standing here to the right of Judith Miller.  I was so glad she came and she allowed me to invite the TCU students.  I will be forever grateful for my education at TCU and was so excited to go back for a visit.

Always love to see Shanan Koschak, LUXE Interiors + Design Regional Director and am so thankful for her support and the generosity of Luxe Interiors + Design for being our ICAA media sponsor.

Every ICAA meeting Luxe Interiors + Design provides each guest with their latest edition.

Mary Ann Holt was Judith's book seller and even though I barely know her I had such a joy working with her and having her at the event.  She is a special lady!

Judith Miller was so enchanting and fascinating to talk with.  I loved getting to meet her and learn from her.

If you don't have her new book, Arts and Crafts, I highly recommend you throw it on your Christmas list!!!

From Left to Right
Elizabeth Tranberg with The Kitchen Source (an event sponsor for the event came and helped us greet guests), Shanan Koschak with Luxe Magazine, Amy Roehl Associate Professor of Interior Design for TCU and myself on the far right.

Tom Holifield introduced the ICAA and welcomed everyone to the event.  Tom lead the steering committee group in putting together this meeting.  Lots of hard work and communication goes into one of these events and he did a fantastic job.

I had the lovely privilege of introducing Judith Miller.

Judith was a fantastic speaker.  She was conversational and interesting and had a great sense of humor. Everyone commented how much they enjoyed her lecture.

Jacke DeBolt and Nancy Paup.  Jackie and Nancy put in many hours for this event to make sure it was successful and they pulled it off beautifully.  Thank you both!

Diane Pease and Judith Miller are very close friends.  I think they look like sisters and they kind of act like sisters too.  They both have a love for antiques.  Diane Pease and I are friends and I asked Diane if she thought Judith would want to speak at our event so Diane contacted Judith and helped make this event happen for the ICAA.

Our spectacular Chef for the event.  It was perfect!

I loved getting to visit with the TCU Interior Design students.  They are smart and talented and have great things ahead of them!  Thank you for coming.

I had to snag a picture with Judith and Diane.  These ladies are a real treasure!  Thank you both for helping make this event possible.

Judith Miller was so engaging.  Everyone loved talking with her and getting to meet her.
