When I lived in Virginia, my husband and I would go for weekend drives in the countryside. I fell in love with Virginia on those drives and found a fond attraction to Virginia architecture. Rolling hills, tree lined driveways, and grand estates. I was pretty spoiled to the views and began to agree with my husband on the country life if I could have one of those houses! These are not the typical country homes you see in Texas - these are beautiful and sometimes historic homes of grandeur and elegance. A few of these homes are still for sale. Please check the photo link for more information on each property.

My husband is from Maryland. We lived there for a year after we were married. I think that part of the country is so beautiful. We have always talked about living on a home on several acres in the middle of horse country VA.
