Rose Colored Glasses

LC Lauren Conrad Oversized Aviator Sunglasses

So I was desperate for sunglasses since my 2 pairs were unwearable.  One was crooked and the other pair broke.  That's what I get for buying cheap sunglasses - I know - I just can't help it.  It's so hard to spend money on sunglasses that I seem to abuse with all the wear and tear they get in my purse, on my head or in my car and now with a 2 year old it's worse than before.  So I found these Lauren Conrad glasses at Kohl's as my next cheap pair until I find the perfect ones (they are out there somewhere but I haven't found them yet).

All this to say, I was walking with Grayson last night and had my new glasses on.  The sky was beautiful and so was the weather.  It was one of those peaceful evenings and towards the end of the walk I was pointing out the clouds against the sun to show Grayson so he could see how beautiful and pink they were.  I kept staring at them and then wanted to see them without my glasses to take a look at this gorgeous pink but as soon as I took my glasses off they were just regular white.  Nothing spectacular or breathtaking like I saw behind my glasses.  Then it hit me...when I fix my eyes on Jesus everyday by spending time in his Word and walking with Him it's like wearing His perspective and seeing life through His eyes.

His perspective is just like those pink clouds in the sunset I saw.  My everyday life can sometimes seem boring and uneventful or sometimes it's hard and extremely challenging but if I'm wearing his sunglasses even the difficult days can seem beautiful and the boring days joyful and exciting.
When I put my eyes on the one who knows my past as well as my future and rest in His care I can enjoy the view no matter what it is because He has made everything beautiful for its own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

"That's why we can be sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."

The Message

"To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.  In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has plated for his own glory."

Paper Boy Wallpaper - All for the Boys

I just found this darling wallpaper and fabric company from London that is just for boys!  A mom of two boys started the company when she began to design their big boy rooms after transitioning from their nursery-style rooms.  Her designs are so classic and yet modern with their simple, unfussy forms and color combinations perfect for boys from pre-school to teen.  My favorite is the dinosaurs and dragons.  Grayson would LOVE one of these in his next room.

Check out their website to see more colors and images.

Sheridan French

Meet Sheridan French (if you haven't already).  She is the mind behind a beautiful line of women's wear, children's wear and fashion accessories and now a home accessory line.  She is a Fort Worth native and current resident so being raised in Fort Worth myself, I was so excited to put the spotlight on a hometown girl.  Sheridan French derives a lot of her design roots and style from her 5 years of living in Europe as well as a stint in London in Prada's Press Office.  She is a mom of 3, a fashion designer and blogger and a model.  Whew - wish I had that much energy!  Gorgeous, talented and creative...please let me introduce Sheridan French...

Love the coral-red and yellow with gold shoes

Adorable casual everyday wear

Ikat and white pants - love it!

This is a gorgeous dress and her makeup is beautiful

I didn't even notice she was pregnant in this picture at first.  Love the quilted leather jacket.

Dallas Home - Mixed and Modern

This Dallas home was for sale a few months ago.  I unfortunately didn't save the address so the only information I have is the pictures and I'm pretty sure it was in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas.  Of course, I don't think anyone will mind browsing through the images of this funky, eclectic but still quite contemporary abode.  It's got a little quirkiness to it that makes you stop and do a double take but it's so interesting that I just had to share.
I love the frosted glass front door, french bench with a velvet fabric and the parsons entry table juxtaposed with the very ornate frame and artwork of a bird all make this entry very intriguing.

My favorite room of the house.  I can never get enough of a white sofa and I'm really liking the pops of tangerine even though it's definitely not one of my favorite colors.  I think it's the play on texture and color and a definite casual feel that makes this room so much fun.

Much more exact in the contemporary terms with a strong statement of chocolate brown and just a hint of the red/orange family.

Must be the Master.  There's that orange again.  I think I like the black vinyl and white chair the most in here.

I absolutely love the pharmacy cabinet in here on the far left along with the giant floor lamp that's hidden behind it.  The display of beauty products is so well done.  Nice touch mixed with the contemporary lines of the bath and shower in here.

Secondary bedroom is so cute with the painted bed, parsons desk and always love a ghost chair.

This ranch style house turned contemporary beauty is stunning outside.

Great idea having several porches since there are several exits to the backyard.
