ICAA at Materials Marketing

This month the Dallas Fort Worth ICAA (that's Institute of Classical Architecture and Art) held its spring social at Materials Marketing in the Dallas Design District.  Materials Marketing's showroom was full of amazing tiles and vignettes of ideas for the numerous materials they carry.
I love tiles like I love fabrics…the possibilities are endless.

I didn't realize this but Materials Marketing has been around for 50 years and they are the only fully integrated manufacturer of hand-carved architectural and dimensional stone.  I particularly enjoyed looking at their different designs for fireplaces and columns.

Look how beautiful this glass tile is!  Recessed in the exterior wall at Materials Marketing.  I had the privilege of getting there early to help set up only to find that Lisa Jackson at Materials Marketing and the team had already done the work!  I was impressed and therefore had the privilege of meandering through the showroom to check out their materials.

Of course, LUXE Interiors and Design was one of the event sponsors.  I love getting their magazine!  After all the internet publishing it's so refreshing to get my hands on a good design publication that I can actually flip through the pages with my own fingertips.

I asked Materials Marketing how long they had been in this location because the showroom was in mint condition.  They had just undergone a renovation and it was incredible so if you are in Dallas and haven't been to their updated showroom then stop by.

Porter Fuqua with J Wilson Fuqua & Associates Architects along with Crystal Holland (loved her outfit) from Lyn Muse Interiors and Preston Early with Preston Custom Homes greeted and checked in the guests.

Love this light fixture.  The showroom had white accents throughout which kept everything fresh and inviting.

Look at the stone and tile.  AMAZING!  I think I got dizzy just trying to take it all in.

Love the tile on the top left.  I could have spent hours in here.

I really liked how they had installation examples throughout the showroom which is always helpful for client's to see how the product will look installed.

Our wonderful sponsor Starlight  A/V team that always provides A/V for our ICAA meetings

Thank you Starlight!

Mitch Gonzales talking about these stunning tiles.  Ooh, look at the one sitting on the fireplace mantle.  One of my favorites was the beadboard tile.

The showroom was full of rooms to walk through and experience and here was one of those rooms designed as a kitchen.

Beautiful stone moldings!

LUXE Interiors and Design Magazine provided a signature drink for the night.
It was pink - my favorite color!

Here I am talking about my kids with Ressie from Materials Marketing.

Larry Boerder gave a great intro for the night before we started the door prizes.

Loved this entry.  Everyone is waiting to see who wins the prizes.

There's that wall and look at the limestone tiles on the floor.

Another view of the showroom

The lighting was so great in this space.  Look at the cove lighting above the entryway header.

Christy Gatchell the Dallas Waterworks General Manager followed Larry Boerder with further introductions.  I love, love, love the tiles featured behind where Christy is standing.

Another shot of the tile work and our Annual Sponsors sign.  The ICAA is great about making sure we know who has helped sponsor our events.  I love knowing the sponsors and discovering new opportunities in the design business.  Our Annual sponsors are Elegant Additions, Iron Age Studios Metal Artistry, Sebastian Construction, Luxe Interiors and Design Magazine, and Texas Timber Frames.

Tom Nugent from Lambert's threw in his business card at the last minute for a chance to win at the door prizes.

Another shot of those tiles!
We all walked away with goodie bags filled with Materials Marketing project notepads (I'm using these like crazy), a stone water jet cut coaster, the latest edition of LUXE magazine (loving it), and Starlight A/V gave us this adorable box of chocolates from Dude Sweet Chocolate shop in Dallas (super yummy).
Thank you all for donating such amazing gifts!

Sales and Design Associate Lisa Jackson from the Dallas Materials Marketing showroom helped make this night possible and welcomed us to the showroom.
Thank you Lisa!

Shane Bala with Starlight A/V threw his card in the mix before the raffle began

Lisa and Christy draw names for the raffle prices.

Alison Gillespie with the Kitchen Source won this gorgeous stone obelisk donated by Materials Marketing (I had my eye on this one)

Tom Holifield with Larry E. Boerder Architects won a gift certificate to Savor

Tom Nugent with Lambert's won the awesome Sonos Play:3 from Starlight A/V

Wendy Mayes from The Kitchen Source in Fort Worth won the Waterworks raffle.
Gorgeous lavender towels and loofahs - or I would call it "spa in a box"!

Michael Rios and Manuel Garcia from MR Bartending poured our drinks for the evening

Sales and Design Associate Reesie Ehle from Materials Marketing Dallas

Tina Christensen and Jojy Koshy from Atrium Fine Homes with Denise McGaha
